Hi, I'm KC — the person building TransitWorldWide. I'm a lifelong rail fan, and this site started from a simple itch: I wanted one clean place to look up train numbers, routes, and timetables without digging through cluttered booking sites just to find basic schedule information.
At launch, TransitWorldWide covers Amtrak train data in the United States. It's a deliberately small starting point — the goal is to get the core experience (search, timetables, station lookups) right on one network before expanding.
This is very much a work in progress, and the plan is to grow it significantly. The near-term roadmap includes ingesting GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) data from railway operators and transit agencies around the world, so TransitWorldWide can eventually cover far more countries and networks than it does today — not just trains, but potentially buses, ferries, and other transit modes down the line.
There's no company behind this, no funding round, no team — just genuine interest in trains and a belief that good, clean transit reference tools shouldn't be hard to find. I'm building this the way I'd want to use it myself.
